Στο χείλος του φαραγγιού της Αράδαινας στα Σφακιά είναι χτισμένος ο ομώνυμος εγκαταλελειμμένος οικισμός, όπου βρίσκεται ο ναός του Αρχάγγελου Μιχαήλ ή Αστράτηγου – όπως τον αποκαλούν οι Σφακιανοί.
Ο ναός είναι σταυροειδής με εξάπλευρο τρούλο, με αρκετά στοιχεία της Ελλαδικής Σχολής και χτίστηκε πάνω στα ερείπια ναού του 6ου αιώνα. Τον 19ο αι. επεκτάθηκε με μονόχωρο καμαροσκέπαστο κτίσμα. Ένα χαρακτηριστικό στοιχείο του, είναι ότι αντί για τέμπλο, ο ναός έχει πεσσούς.
